Through our partnership with the Maryland Autism Waiver, we offer comprehensive, person-centered services that promote independence, inclusion, and overall well-being for individuals and their families.

Our Autism Waiver Services

We provide a range of individualized support programs designed to meet the unique needs of each person:

Family Consultation (FC) – Providing education, training, and support to families, helping them navigate resources and enhance their ability to support their loved one’s development.

Intensive Individual Support Services (IISS) – Delivering one-on-one personalized support to help individuals build essential life skills, improve social interactions, and increase independence.

Respite Care (RC) – Providing temporary relief for caregivers by offering short-term care in a safe and nurturing setting, ensuring both individuals and their families receive necessary support.

Who Can Benefit?

Our Autism Waiver services are designed for:

Children and youth (ages 1–21) diagnosed with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) who require intensive support to thrive at home, in school, and in the community.

Families and caregivers seeking professional guidance, training, and respite to better support their child’s behavior, communication, and daily living skills.

Educators, service coordinators, and community partners working collaboratively to promote meaningful inclusion, skill development, and long-term planning for individuals with ASD.

Eligibility Criteria

To qualify for Autism Waiver-funded services, individuals must meet specific criteria:

Have a developmental disability that:
- Manifests before age 22
- Is likely to continue indefinitely
- Results in substantial functional limitations in major life activities
Complete the Autism Waiver Application for Services, available on the Maryland Department of Health website. Assistance is available through Autism Waiver regional offices to guide applicants through the process.
